About this course

The evolution of architectural design has been marked by significant milestones, and the advent of Building Information Modeling (BIM) stands out as one of the most transformative. While mastering Revit is a crucial first step, understanding BIM collaboration is what truly unlocks its potential. ArchAdemia’s course on BIM Collaboration is meticulously designed to arm you with the skills required to navigate the dynamic landscape of team-oriented architectural projects.

Often, when professionals seek an “online Revit course” or a “Revit course near me,” they’re introduced to the tools but not the collaborative methods that truly maximize Revit’s utility. This is where ArchAdemia distinguishes itself. Our course delves into the nitty-gritty of BIM collaboration, ensuring you’re not just Revit-savvy but also adept at leveraging its capabilities in a team environment.

As you journey through our “Revit training videos”, you’ll unravel the core concepts of worksharing, worksets, and more. A significant emphasis is laid on ensuring that Revit families are optimized to share data seamlessly, fostering a smooth and efficient collaborative experience.

If you’re a professional searching for the “best Revit course” that provides holistic knowledge, your search ends here. Beyond just software functionality, we underscore the importance of comportment—how to conduct oneself in a project environment that adheres to a BIM execution plan. It’s not just about using the software; it’s about synergizing with others to bring visions to life.

And if you’re just starting your journey, be sure to check out the free Revit content available on ArchAdemia’s YouTube channel. These bite-sized insights complement our main course and provide an excellent introduction to the world of Revit.

Upon successful completion of our Revit training course, students are awarded a Revit course certificate. It’s not merely a piece of paper but a badge of honor, testifying to your proficiency in BIM collaboration using Revit.

So, take the leap with ArchAdemia. Let’s redefine the boundaries of architectural collaboration together. Enroll now and equip yourself with a skill set that’s in high demand in the modern architectural landscape.

Why ArchAdemia?

Syllabus

We open the course by explaining the principles of working collaboratively in design studios and cover the basics of working in such a manor in a BIM setting.
Here, we explain the importance of working correctly in Revit and to let go of old habits such as drawing off to the side in model space as this will disrupt the whole process of setting up a central model for sharing with team members and consultants. We then explain the best practices to adopt, to help you drop those bad habits!
With all the theory out of the way we walk you through how to ‘work share’ utilising a central model. Key points such as ownership over elements of a model, work sets, view parameters and file management are covered.
A crucial part of working with others is setting up work sets so you and your team can work on certain areas of a project without getting in each other’s way. We explain how to set these up and work with view settings to avoid mistake.
Families in Revit come from various sources, in-house modelling, manufacturers, or online resources. We explain how to work with them all to avoid error and duplication when working with others in a BIM setting.

Why is BIM important for Architects?

Not all clients hand architects endless time to tweak and perfect their designs. More often than not, architects are racing against the clock, knowing that their schedules directly affect the whole construction timeline. Enter BIM. It lets architects whip up designs digitally, making tweaks and changes as they get a clearer picture of what the client wants and any other project constraints.

Forget the slow and tedious method of drawing 2D designs by hand. With BIM, drawing a wall is a breeze. And if you need multiple copies? A few clicks and you’re done. But it’s not just about visuals; BIM is smart. You can add details like the wall’s performance metrics, costs, even info about the insulation behind it. This way, the building’s energy efficiency can be checked way in advance. And the best part? With all the time BIM saves, architects can finesse their designs and still hit those tight deadlines.
